New Jersey Children’s Alliance is the New Jersey Chapter of the National Children’s Alliance (NCA).


Our Mission

New Jersey Children’s Alliance promotes hope, healing and justice for victims of child abuse throughout New Jersey by supporting Child Advocacy Centers with training, resources, advocacy, and leadership.

Our Vision

Our goal is for every child abuse victim in New Jersey to have access to the hope and healing provided by the full range of quality, comprehensive, coordinated and evidence-informed services offered by Child Advocacy Centers in order to create a world without child abuse.


What We Provide

• Consultation and technical assistance to Child Advocacy Centers in meeting best practice

           standards

 • Training to multidisciplinary team members and CAC staff to ensure all children have

           access to evidence-based services.

• Advocacy for ongoing funding for CACs

• Educational and informational resources for CAC Clients

• Outreach to communities, child-serving organizations

• Partner agencies to educate on child abuse prevention, intervention, and response

• Know & Tell child abuse prevention education programs


What is child abuse?

 In New Jersey, child abuse is legally defined as the physical, sexual, or emotional harm or risk of

 harm to a child under the age of 18 caused by a parent or other person who acts as a caregiver

 for the child. Neglect occurs when a parent or caregiver fails to provide proper supervision for a child or adequate food, clothing, shelter, education, or medical care although financially able or assisted to do so.


What you can do

  There is a continuing wish list which includes some of the following:

      • Legislative advocacy for stronger child protection laws

      • Host drives for school supplies

      • Bag Project needs, toys and more

      • Gift cards

      • Diapers/wipes

      • Reusable water bottles

      • Blankets, Childrens jackets, hats, scarves and gloves

      • Toiletries, Shampoo

      • Monetary donations will help fulfil the continuing needs for the children


Child Advocacy Centers are in every county in the state. Coordinators are there to help you.
