Community projects we are working on.

We have listed here some of the many community service projects we are currently focused on. Each year we consider adding or changing projects. Let us know if you have a favorite community project. We would love to consider it!

Our Focus, Our Passion.

COMMUNITY GARAGE SALE

The Montville Township, Women's Club, holds a town-wide garage sale each year in the first week of June. Over 100 homes hold a garage sale. A town map is available, which lists the address of each garage sale so you can drive around and check them off one at a time. If you live in town, don't miss this opportunity to buy your permit and clean out items you no longer need. If you are a shopper, don't miss this fun day full of great deals!

Annual Blood Drive

On the last Sunday of January each year, the MTWC hosts a blood drive at the Montville Senior Center on Main Road. We strive to collect 50 pints of blood each year to help the local area in this life-saving effort.

efforts on behalf of our Veterans

The women's club provides support to current service members and veterans. We support a variety of projects for homeless veterans as well as veterans within transitional facilities. In addition, we compile holiday stockings for service men & women yearly.

road cleanup

The Women's Club joins other Community groups in providing road clean-up services to improve the local environment for town properties. MTWC Members engage in four yearly clean-ups with equipment the Town provides for clean-up. Our first clean-up is coordinated with Earth Day in April. This activity allows our members to focus on the environment and enables members to have a social experience with "coffee and" following the clean-up!

EDUCATION- SCHOLARSHIP

The Women's Club offers two Scholarships to Montville Township High School students each year.  Candidates for these awards provide a written explanation of their plans for further education and career goals. A committee of club members reviews the entries and determines which two entries qualify for these Scholarships.  Presentation of the Scholarships occurs during the Awards Ceremony in the late spring.

Kiwanis Food pantry

We have been collecting food for the Montville Kiwanis Food Pantry for many years. In the past, we have collected from our members, friends, and the community approximately 500 pounds of food each year.

Other projects we are working on

Throughout the year, we focus on a wide variety of community activities. We have listed some of them below.

ROAD CLEANUP DAY

4 times a year, we gather to clean up debris that collects on our roadways. Members come together to participate in this fun event!

COMFORT PILLOWS

Our members collect needed supplies, assemble the pillows and distribute them to local hospitals for women recovering from breast cancer surgery.

SOLES4SOULS

Used or new shoes are sent to those in need  - providing relief, creating jobs, and assisting and lifting people out of poverty.
